Meet Steph Ma

A curious soul who blends the worlds of science and yoga with grace and grounded wisdom. With over a decade of practice, Steph’s journey began in a bustling Camden gym and has since evolved into a lifelong passion rooted in self-discovery, movement, and mindfulness. A graduate of WEDOYOGA’s 200-hour Teacher Training, Steph brings a thoughtful, expressive energy to every class she leads. Whether guiding students through dynamic flows or moments of stillness, she creates space for strength, softness, and joyful exploration on the mat.

About Steph

Steph is both a scientist and a yoga teacher, two paths that keep her curious, grounded, and always learning. She first discovered yoga over a decade ago at her local gym in Camden, drawn in by the self-reflection that it brought amongst the hustle and bustle of undergraduate student life. Since then, yoga has been an anchor through each life chapter, from the intensity and structure of Bikram during her postgraduate years, to the creative, expressive flows of Vinyasa that have shaped her practice since settling in Hertfordshire. After 12 years of personal exploration, she embarked on a journey to become a Vinyasa yoga teacher, to be able to share the grounding, clarity, and empowerment that she has found through yoga with others. Steph graduated from WEDOYOGA’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Spring 2025.

Steph’s Yoga Teaching

Steph’s classes offer a balanced Vinyasa flow, that weave together challenge and strength with softness and ease. You’ll be guided through a sequence that has moments to build physical resilience and inner steadiness, as well as moments of release and space to let go. You can also expect some dynamic movements, with opportunities to embrace spontaneity and explore your playful side. Join Steph for a practice that invites you to cultivate strength, flexibility and joy, all whilst harmonizing breath with movement.

  • Steph lived in California for a science internship and returned to London with the best souvenir - an American husband!
  • An avid runner, Steph has completed six half marathons. Her favourite one was in San Francisco, where she ran across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.
  • When she’s not at yoga on a Saturday morning, you’ll find her at parkrun, edging closer to her 150 run milestone!
