The practice of yoga comes in many forms from the most sedentary and relaxing styles of Restorative to dynamic, sweat-inducing, beat-dropping Vinyasa Flow classes. Our collection of teachers bring you unique classes from both ends of the spectrum as well as from the places in between.
Below is a list of classes we offer regularly, but we also have guest teachers and workshops featured from time-to-time so please see our weekly schedule and drop us a line if you have any questions.
OUR SIGNATURE CLASSES
WEDOYOGA Flow follows the similar dynamic style of Vinyasa Flow but is done in three rounds. The first round is with verbal cues and modifications from your instructor, followed by a second round with only the breath cues and a third round where you flow on your own. You are welcome to modify any of the postures or skip them altogether to create a unique sequence that is entirely your own and suitable to your discovery of self practice. All classes start with a guided warm-up and end with a closing savasana.
WEDOYOGA Flow is open to all, but let us know if you are an absolute beginner so we can help facilitate your first practice in this style.
WEDOYOGA FLOW EXPRESS
Similar to WEDOYOGA Flow, our WEDOYOGA Flow Express sequence is done in three rounds in a faster pace. The first round is with verbal cues and modifications from your instructor, followed by a second round with only the breath cues, and a third round where you flow on your own. You are welcome to modify any of the postures or skip them altogether to create a unique sequence that is entirely your own and suitable to your discovery of self practice.
WEDOYOGA Flow Express is open to all, but let us know if you are an absolute beginner so we can help facilitate your first practice in this style.
FLOW + RESTORE
Flow + Restore is open to all and offers a toned-down approach to the dynamic Vinyasa Flow style. The class will still consist of the elements of a Vinyasa Flow class with fluid movements between postures linked to the breath, but will offer more more time spent on restoring the mind and body with calming balance and flexibility asanas. Think of this class like a moving meditative practice to help you relieve stress and anxiety, and set you up for rest and relaxation.
FLOW + HITT
Flow + HITT is open to all and offers a dynamic warm-up to make sure the muscles are loose and ready for work. This 45 minute yoga class is a cardio kick in the arse. Following the popular HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) format, you will be doing high impact, heart-pumping cardio movements in yoga postures alongside short intervals of rest to recover. This class is incredibly beneficial to cardiovascular health and will leave you feeling like you’ve burnt double the calories than your normal yoga class. Ready to drop and give me 20 Chaturangas?
FLOW + MEDITATE
Flow + Meditate is open to all and offers a super chilled approach to a Vinyasa Flow style. The class will still consist of the elements of a Vinyasa Flow class with fluid movements between postures linked to the breath, but will offer more time spent on relaxing and calming the mind and body. Think of this class as a 30 minute moving meditative practice followed by 30 minute meditation to help you relieve stress and anxiety, and set you up for rest and relaxation.
SLOW BURN + FLOW
Slow Burn + Flow classes follow the Vinyasa Flow style but as the name suggests, movements are slower and postures are held for longer in order to hone in on the foundations and correct alignment - so be prepared to have muscles burn and sweat dripping! Unlike WEDOYOGA Flow, these classes are completely guided as your teacher slowly builds you towards a peak pose. Like our other signature classes, Slow Burn + Flow is open to all and is recommended for students who want to take a bit more time to practice better form in positions.
SLOW BURN + RESTORE
Want a real burner but also a long cool down? Slow Burn + Restore is what you’re looking for. Like the Slow Burn + Flow class, SB+R includes strong postures that are held for longer to work into the core muscles as well as focus on foundation and alignment. The class is fully guided as your instructor builds you towards a peak posture. Once through with the harder segment, your class will slow down with a restorative section and long well deserved savasana.
VIBE + FLOW (Hip Hop Flow & Throwback Thursday Classes)
These classes can range in styles from signature classes like the WEDOYOGA Flow to a less structured, free-form practice, but will be set to whatever theme we’re vibing that day. Some of our favourites are Hip Hop Flow, Throwback Thursday and Flow + Glow in the Dark. Check out our weekly schedule to see what we have lined up and for further class descriptions. These classes are open to all and can be a really fun way to get newly introduced to yoga if you’ve never tried it before.
OUR OTHER STYLES
These classes are open to the yoga novice and for those wanting or needing a slower paced class. It’s all about getting to know and making friends with your body, so although it may be challenging at times it will lay the foundation for your yoga practice. Yoga essentials is designed to teach you the principles of yoga, focusing on the correct technique for each posture along with their benefits. You will learn to connect movement with the breath, develop physical awareness and build strength. With adjustments and modifications offered this class will help you to build your confidence and awareness of the body so you will leave each class feeling refreshed and inspired.
Yin focuses on intense deep stretching of the body’s connective tissues and around the joints. It is a slow-paced meditative and profound practice and focuses on the energy channels within the body. With the focus on improving flexibility over strength, most postures are seated and can feel quite challenging at times. You will be holding postures for up to 5-7 minutes to discover how your body is storing and releasing tension. Modifications and adjustments to suit your body’s needs will always be offered. This is a great complimentary class for those hooked on our signature WEDOYOGA classes and are perfect for bringing in a bit of stillness and peace to counter the faster moving flows.
ASHTANGA PRIMARY SERIES
The Ashtanga Primary Series is a set sequence starting with Sun Salutations A&B, followed by a set standing, seated, and finishing sequences. The series incorporates forward bends, hip openers, twists, and balances with a connecting vinyasas in between. The focus of this style is to build strength and flexibility as well as detoxify the body through a set sequence of postures that do not change. This style has a huge following and is both loved and hated for it’s repetition and strict order. It’s a great addition to more free flowing Vinyasa Flow classes because it balances the free movements with order which is why we teach it here at WEDOYOGA. Lovers of consistency and repetition will find comfort in this class.
Mysore is the traditional way of practicing the Ashtanga series and was created by K. Pattabhi Jois in the village of Mysore which is how it got it’s name. In these classes, the students are completely self-guided with the instructor there to give adjustments and modifications as needed. The practice heavily focuses on linking breath to movement and can be a wonderful experience for moving in a meditative state. We love the self-leading aspects of it so much that we have added this style into our signature classes.
This is an open level mat class which will awaken muscles you had no idea where there! Pilates was created to have a focus on the mechanics of the body. This is a great compliment to your WEDOYOGA classes as it still focuses on strength but is completely guided by your instructor and has particular focus on core muscle groups and resistance techniques to build muscle tone.
Not just your average pilates class, Pilates Sculpt is a mat class that is fully focused on your power house - the core which makes it a great compliment to your yoga classes. It is an intense workout that takes you through powerful body conditioning exercises with the use of props and without. It will stimulate your cardiovascular system, improve muscle strength and endurance while developing core control and muscle tone. It is suitable for all levels with modifications given to suit each individual need.
MINDFUL SOUND MEDITATION
Mindful Sound Meditation is a calming and healing meditation class set to sound while lying in savasana. Using Tibetan Singing Bowls, gongs, and percussion to create primordial sounds and vibrations during your practice can help deeply relax the body and induce focused meditation. This class style promotes well-being by relieving stress and anxiety as well as calming the mind of errant chatter.
This class is open to women at all stages of pregnancy from 14 weeks onwards.
This prenatal yoga class will help to enhance a positive pregnancy experience and give you the tools to help aid a calm and active labour. This class will concentrate on gentle yoga poses which will keep you active and help strengthen connection with you and your growing baby. Breathing techniques will also be taught to help support you during your labour. This is a great opportunity to meet new mums to be and build a supportive community.
MUM + BABY YOGA
The class will involve soft and gentle yoga movements for the mum, to help get the body moving in the 4th trimester, along with yoga + massage for baby. This class will help to improve your mother + baby bond. The sequences have been intelligently created to help ground you and your baby, in an easy way to learn.
This class is suitable for beginners, no yoga experienced needed and for babies from 8 weeks old until they start crawling.
