Meet Lyvia Nabarro
Lyv has been practising yoga for over seven years and decided to take the leap into teaching just over a year ago, wanting to give back what yoga had brought to her life.
She believes that yoga can be a healer, both mentally and physically, and wants to help people find routes into yoga, whatever style they enjoy.
Expect a strong, steady practice to build heat and inspire the body to move and your mind to push itself.
Lyv was born in Hertfordshire and after a number of years living in London, settled into Hitchin life four years ago.
In her day-to-day world, she works in communications but is at her happiest with her pup on long sunny countryside walks or spending time with her family.
She loves to travel and explore new places and believes that age is just a number. Staying active helps keep you active, which is why yoga is such a big part of her life.
She is also active in her local community and volunteers with the Hygiene Bank, Garden House Hospice and is a Trustee of the Charity, Mummy’s Star.
Lyv first got into yoga while living in London. With an abundance of high-quality studios to choose from she tried all styles of yoga from Hatha and Vinyasa to Jivamukti and Ashtanga.
After building her practise for over seven years, she realised her love of yoga wasn’t budging, neither was her commitment to it. So, she decided to lean in and travelled to Rishikesh in India to train with the Drishti Yoga School. After an amazing five weeks practising six days a week, she had a strong foundation for becoming a teacher, taking in the philosophy and history of yoga as we know it today. The single biggest learning… asana (physical) practice is designed to help us sit longer and more comfortably in meditation. Yoga is a practice of the mind; the body is just its vehicle.
Wanting to learn more and feel more confident to teach in the UK, she completed further training in her 200hrs YTT at WEDOYOGA, in Letchworth, and 50hrs in Biomechanics and hands on adjustments at Realign Yoga in Spain.
She now channels this variety of teaching into her own classes, creating energising and empowering yoga flows to make you feel strong and confident.
Qualifications: 200hr Ashtanga yoga, 200hr Vinyasa yoga, 50hr Biomechanics and Adjustments, module in Thai massage.
