Meet Lucy Patterson

Lucy is a passionate yoga teacher who believes movement is a powerful way to reconnect with both body and mind. Known for her calm presence and down-to-earth approach, she creates classes that feel supportive, steady and welcoming for everyone who steps onto the mat. Lucy values the sense of community that yoga brings and believes the practice is about far more than physical postures — it’s about building resilience, finding balance and cultivating a deeper connection with yourself and the world around you.

About Lucy

Lucy started practising yoga in her early twenties, initially drawn to it for the physical benefits of improving flexibility and mobility. But around nine years ago, when her son became seriously ill, her relationship with yoga deepened. During that time, daily yoga and meditation became her anchor — something steady and grounding when life felt anything but. Since then, yoga has become less about the poses and more about resilience, perspective, and simply showing up.

As a trained herbalist with a strong connection to nature, Lucy weaves seasonal awareness and grounding practices into classes that feel safe, supportive and nourishing.

Alongside yoga and herbalism, Lucy has over 16 years of experience as a sports therapist. She brings a strong understanding of anatomy, alignment and injury prevention into every class, helping students move well and stay active for life. She firmly believes in the motto: “If you don’t use it, you lose it.”

Throughout her twenties and thirties, Lucy immersed herself in endurance sport, completing ultra-marathons, marathons and triathlons. Now in her forties, she runs and swims for pleasure and peace, embracing movement as a lifelong companion rather than a competition.

Lucy loves the outdoors and can often be found planning mountain adventures with her husband and two boys.

Lucy's Yoga Teaching

Lucy is trained in Vinyasa, Hot, Rocket and Ashtanga yoga. Her teaching blends strong, mindful movement with her background in sports therapy, creating classes that focus on alignment, body awareness and sustainable strength.

She has a particular passion for classic hot yoga and the resilience it builds — physically, mentally and emotionally. Lucy is drawn to the steadiness of heat-based practice and its ability to help students stay present with challenge, cultivating focus, self-trust and grounded awareness both on and off the mat.

Her classes are strong, steady and supportive, encouraging students to challenge themselves while also listening to their bodies.
