Carly Willers

Carly (she/her) is a yoga teacher based in Hertfordshire. She hopes to provide you time and space on your mat to forget the day, connect to your body and breath, and really dedicate time to you! Her teaching style is very inclusive, so her classes are open to all.

Carly Willers Yoga Teacher At WEDOYOGA Studio

Originally from Lincolnshire, Carly first moved to Leeds to study for her degree, and then Hertfordshire for work. She is now a full time engineer alongside teaching yoga (so knows all about the aches and pains that come with a desk job!).

Yoga has been a part of Carly’s life since her early teens, moving with her through school, university and now as a fulfilling career alongside her day job. She was originally drawn to yoga by headstands and other impressive physical poses, but soon discovered it was offering so much more. Carly is happy to share that she sometimes struggles with stress and overwhelm, and hopes that using her own experience she can boost the wellbeing of her students through yoga (she can also now stand on her head, which is pretty fun too!).

Carly’s teaching style is the perfect balance between powerful fun flows, and restorative relaxing cool downs. She likes to incorporate more of yoga than just the physical, such as meditation, internal awareness and focus on the power of the breath. However, you are still likely to break a sweat after holding your high lunge for 6 breaths and is he promises she doesn’t mind if you’re cursing her when she says ‘just one more breath’ in your chair pose!

Carly’s got a few simple rules for her classes:

  • All are welcome.
  • Take a child’s pose whenever you need.
  • Close your eyes whenever you want.
  • Do what you can to enjoy every moment, because you are here for you, not for me.

As long as you leave your mat feeling refreshed and relaxed, she’s  happy!

Qualifications: 200hr Multi-Style Yoga Teacher Training. Currently studying towards: Yoga Nidra (40 hr) and Yoga for Anxiety

  • She can snowboard (not amazingly well, but she gets down the slopes!)
  • She has a Degree in Mathematics and a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • She once ran a half-marathon… never again!
  • The only exercise she enjoys outside of yoga is pole fitness. She even competed in a couple of beginner competitions while at uni.
